Pair of antique wooden hair combs from Africa.
One measures 11.5" in length and 1.5" across and has 6 tines.The carving on this one is very intricate and darkened to accentuate the design.The other measures 11" in length and 1.75" across and has 5 tines. The carving is more delicate and harder to see.
Both have fully intact tines. Unique in size and design.
One must think of the history here. What skilled craftsman made these? Who wore them, and how long ago?
They still have the pins that attached them to the wall as they were used as decor.~~~
