43\"x23\" folk art from a local Peruvian artisan depicts the culture of the region, including cattle farming, village architecture, sacred temples and spiritual and symbolic representations of Incan culture: the Condor, representing the heavens and a connection between the Earth & skies, were thought to carry the dead to their afterlife on their wings; and the Snake, representing the underworld and the beginning of new life, also representing wisdom & knowledge.
Overall tapestry is in very good condition, with vibrant colors and detailed embroidery. There is a portion of the top stitching that has come unravelled and remnant of glue from a wood border that was previously removed, but neither affect the overall image on front. Please see photos for details.
