This is a Papal skull cap aka zucchetto that Pope Francis blessed on December 14, 2022 inside the Pope Paul VI auditorium. This auditorium is inside Vatican City next door (to the south ) to St. Peter’s Basilica.

The reason this is being sold for much cheaper than most is because this is not made by the official tailer of the Pope. This particular skull cap was made by a company called Barbiconi srl in Rome, Italy. This company claims to be the “backup” tailor of the Pope.

Also there is no leather inside that is in the official made skull caps. The outer material is white silk and the interior of the cap is lined with linen/cloth.

This is a great, affordable collectable to own if you are wanting a Pope Francis blessed item. Also, a zucchetto is a great conversation piece when you have company over to visit.
