PUBLISHED BY JOHN T. ADAMS, MARBLEHEAD, MASS. was LEE MANSION. The stately mansion on Wash- ington Street, nearly opposite Mason Street, built in 1768, and occupied by Col. Jeremiah Lee, a wealthy merchant. It was one of the lar- gest and most costly in the Colony, built of materials brought from England. Here Washington was entertained on the occasion of his memorable visit to Marblehead. Lafayette was here twice an honored guest, and Andrew Jackson was a visitor and here tendered a notable reception. The Lee Mansion is now owned and occupied by the Mar- blehead Historical Society. T.
