Stunning set of two carved wood alter candlesticks or floor candlesticks
Each one stands 36" tall, 6.5" wide at the base and 5.5" deep at the base
I believe these to be hand carved and hand painted
The candle cups are made of tin that has rusted to a beautiful patina
As noted in the photos, the back sides of the base are flat, appearing to have been created to stand against the wall
Please note all photos: these are very old pieces with evidence of age/use. There are nicks, scratches and chips to the paint surface. Also note, due to the age of the wood, they don't stand completely straight. These "imperfections" are indicative of their age and add to their patina, but needed to be noted. These are old and appear to be so.
These were purchased at the Round Top Antiques Fair in Texas. They were acquired from a reputable vendor who imports items from Mexico. She said they came from a very old church in Mexico.
