The ProTech Mordax has rapidly become one of Protech\'s most sought after and collected models of knives. The Mordax has a bit of an interesting history, dating back to a collaboration between the knife design brothers at Ferrum Forge to create a knife made by Protech, to be exclusively sold on Massdrop (later drop). The knife was extremely popular and would always sell out on release. Later on Massdrop would be purchased by Amazon, and would cease the sale of the knife. Eventually the rights were secured to re-release the knife as a staple of ProTech. That very knife would again become one of the most popular options out there from the brand.
This updated version uses Magnacut blade steel for an extremely durable and long lasting edge, while still maintaining properties that allow for efficient sharpening. The scales use the aluminium honey comb texture pattern machined to add additional grip in use. The overall knife design is extremely ergonomic, thanks to the forward finger choil allowing for the user to choke up for a various range of precise cuts. Whether you\'re looking for an extremely rugged daily user, or a key piece of the collection the Mordax is a fantastic option. There\'s a reason this knife is always sold out and is hard to find.
This knife is used but is in like new condition. The knife was purchased for photography and review and was never cut with and has never been carried outside of the studio. The knife has a small abrasion like scratch next to the clip from our pocket test (see photos). The rest of the knife is immaculate with no further signs of wear or use.
