This is the ornate, table-mounted Mrs. Susan R. Knox Fluting Machine. If \'original quality\' is important, you will fall in love with this antique laundry-day device. Nearly all of the original intricate gold stenciling remains.Susan R. Knox of New York, NY, received U.S. Patent No. 59,913,dated November 20, 1866, and Reissue No. 3,938, dated April 26, 1870, for her\"Improvements in Machines for Making Fluted Ruffles\". Then, Feb.13, 1877, with patent number 4359 Fluting Machines, she patented the photo that was used on the base plate. (Extract)“A likeness of myself, with a facsimile of my autograph signature across the bottom thereof.’ Approximate size: The base is 8.5\" x 8.5\" and it is 9.5\" tall Get your Mrs. Susan R.
