Up for sale is a rare 1895 Phenix Insurance Deed for the Menger Hotel in downtown San Antonio, Texas. This hotel dates to 1859, initially as a brewery in one of the first neighborhoods in San Antonio not far from the Alamo. This old document has a couple original signatures from a Menger family member but I can\'t read the initials to determine the first name. It is definitely signed Menger as the last name--see pictures for reference. This measures approximately 22 inches by 17 inches when unfolded. There is a lot of paper discoloration for the age but there are no tears and it\'s in overall good condition considering that it is over 125 years old. It would look good framed.
The paper reads \"Stock Policy By This Policy of Insurance The Phenix Insurance Company of Brooklyn New York\" and then the document lays out the background on the deed. There is an added piece of paper in the center of the document detailing the address and its placement within San Antonio\'s downtown area.
