RARE Antique MEISSEN Style DRGM Germany Porcelain Boy Figural CANDLE HOLDER VASE:

This exquisite ceramic figurine candle holder is full of character and history. Made in Germany in the early 20th century, it features a charming little boy, an empty basket that could be used for matches or to hold flowers, and a pedestal candle holder. This piece looks very similar to the Meissen pieces produced during the late 1800s to early 1900s. Impressed underneath with D.R.G.M. Registered Germany and what looks like the number 36. The DRGM abbreviation, meaning Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster, meaning the piece was registered, was used on a variety of items from 1891-1944. The bottom rim of this piece does look like it has some letters that could be a signature or maker mark, impressed on the ring, but I’m unable to make out what they are.
The candle holder looks like a tree that has vines around it and the boy appears to be tying some of them around his waist. Maybe this is a representation of Jack and the Beanstalk? The painting and features of the little boy also look similar to KPM or Gebruder Heubach’s work. Multi colored swag flowers adorn the top of the candle holder and this piece has gold accents painted throughout as well. Measuring 8” High with a length of 3.5” and a width of 3”. There is some porcelain chip to the underside of holder, which I’ve taken pictures of and included above, and a hairline shows on the underside of the bottom, which looks like it happened prior to glazing this piece as it appears under the glaze and you can’t feel a ridged with your finger. Other than those minor flaws, which aren’t visible unless you turn it upside down, this piece is in excellent condition. Add some Victorian flair to your shelves, mantle or countertops with this adorable piece! The intricate details of the foliage and floral peasant theme are sure to catch your eye.
