This is a scarce if not rare, \"Souvenir Number..\" of the Camp and Plant, Volume II, No. 5 published August 6, 1902, \"A Weekly Published by the Sociological Department of The Colorado Fuel and Iron Company and devoted to the news from the mines and mills.\"

We are hard pressed to find an original copy or record of the sale of this issue outside of a museum. It celebrates the  Pueblo, CO opening of the \"New Minnequa Hospital of C.F. & I Co. - Most Complete in World in Construction Detail and Sanitation.\" It is a record of the humane part of the social engineering that the famous and infamous American Steel Barons were working on at the time.

It is a typical publication of the period, 6.94\" x 9.94, saddlestapled with ivory colored stock wrappers and 32 pp of fairly thick semi glossy paper with pagination ending at page 128. It is profusely illustrated with 33 photo reproductions as both whole page plates and in text.

The condition is Acceptable to Good being tight, well bound, generally clean and without notation, creases, tears or intentional dog ears. At some point in its history it suffered some humidity or moisture staining at the shelf edges, more so to the back and front and less so to the interior text block. However, the exposure was limited and the staples show no rust whatsoever. The period of moisture also caused some page ripple or waving. There is a small corner text block bump or curl to the top right corner. The extent of these discrepancies can be seen in the images which have been tweaked a bit for clarity.

In general the booklet is in Acceptable to Good condition and, in my opinion, this is a historic 122 year old collectable.
