RARE EARLY FLAIRED LIP GREEN EMBOSSED MEDICINE OPEN PONTIL- DUG CLEVELAND, OHIO:
$350.00

Description:This open pontiled rectangular, beveled corner bottle is strongly embossedPAIN PANACEA. This bottle was dug in Cleveland, Ohio, and resembles a DR. BAKER\'S // PAIN / PANACEA bottle from Cleveland. This bottle could be an early variant or a knockoff of Dr, Baker\'s medicine bottle. This bottle\'s flared lip certainly predates the known embossed Dr. Baker\'s Pain Panacea bottles.Height:4 1/4\"Lip: Early flared lip. (1840\'s)Base: Large sharp open pontil.Color: GreenCondition: VERY GOOD.Dug bottle with some nice whittle. No chips, flashes, cracks, dings, or scratches. Very few ground lines on the back panel and some faint stains. Would tumble mint. Really not bad. (see pictures)Remarks:Excellent old embossed colored medicine; bottle style dating from the late 1840s.I have placed a picture of three pontiled medicines I am selling at this time for color comparison. You are offerding only on the bottle in the middle.
