This is an unused blade by legendary knife and blade maker, Bob Engnath who sold his blades and and knifemaking supplies at every major knife show I ever attended in the 80\'s and 90\'s. I bought a couple of large blades from him when I thought about making knives and never used them except as an example of perfection to strive for in my own blades. I decided to go with smaller practical hunting knives and these large blades have been laying around for 30+ years. I bought many different types of supplies from Bob at shows over the years and he was always eager to to give me advice on an anything I was having trouble with. Bob died in 1998 and the knife world suffered a great loss.This blade is a #97 as pictured in the #4-A Blades and Stuff catalog that I have and sold for $39.50. It is ATS34 as the catalog says. It does have a tong hole that is not pictured in the book that is original. It is hardened and requires only final finishing and fitting. It has an age related patina that buffs off easily. There is one spot about a square inch in size that was buffed many years ago when I was thinking I would try to finish it, but decided to stick with hunting knives. This is a beautiful and unique blade and it deserves better than I could give it. Sorry, I am not a photographer.
