RARE Gorgeous Antique Ovington New York France Gilt Bronze & Blue Enamel Jewelry Casket Box Case Floral Fabric Lining. This stunning, antique French box is a VERY tough piece to come by nowadays! It has a beautiful design and ormolu finish. The lid has a cast bronze medallion in the center surrounded by blue enamel. It measures approximately 4 3/8" wide x 4 3/8" deep x 2 1/4" tall (including the feet). The box is stamped France Ovington New York, and “1743” is hand carved to the write of the stamp. The Ovington Brothers imported high end goods from France for their store in New York. The box is in very nice condition for its age, circa mid to late 19th century.
