• CONDITION: Excellent Vintage:Free from any damage or restoration. In gift, or collector-grade, condition.• DISCUSSION: Authentic Italian, Murano art glass duck figurine made by one of the premier glass furnaces on the island of Murano, Italy. Decorated with a layer of pure metallic gold flakes(aventurine) finally covered by a layer of clear glass. It's a gorgeous piece! Shown in both warm and cool lighting to present a wide range of appearances. The pontil/base is flat and shows the expected shelf wear consistent with its age. It's even more beautiful in person!
Though it lost its label, it's made in the style of the artists of Gambaro & Poggi, c. mid-1970s, and confidently attributed to their furnace.

FULL CONDITION REPORT:We thoroughly inspected this piece andfound nocracks, chips, nicks, scuffs, flea bites, flakes, hairlines, notable scratches, or repairs with no evidence of grindingor restoration. Any natural indentations, bubbles, tool marks, and/or any other natural textural features are all original to this piece and normal for hand-blown glass. Wear to the base is consistent with age.Pontil scar artifacts, usually on base (looks like a divot), are the remains of the normal scar and are recognized by collectors to not be damaged. Please review all high-resolution photographs, at full size, in forming your own opinions.

Vetreria Artistica Gambaro & Poggi glass companywas founded in 1974 byMario Gambaro and Bruno Poggi. The two brothers-in-law – Mario is married to Bruno’s sister – were born and grew up in Murano. As for all previous and present glass masters, their training was working with some of the most famous glass artists – in their case Archimede Seguso and Alfredo Barbini – or at some of the most important glass companies, such as Seguso Vetri d’Arte, Vincenzo Nason and Barovier & Toso. Their company soon became popular for their refined products and their new styles and shapes. Gambaro & Poggi was especially famous for theproduction of artistic glass objectswhich probably represent, together with chandeliers,the most famous and typical Murano Glass production: big and small traditional craftsmanship masterpieces – bowls, vases, plates, animals, candle holders, table lamps, carafes, drinking glasses, sculptures – or limited number collection pieces for a refined customer looking for a unique product.
