About the Seller...In my childhood, I was an avid Short Wave Radio collector, builder and listener. As a listener who enjoyed the hobby of receiving and identifying distant radio signals, I also enjoyed collecting QSL ('DXing') cards from all over the world, and now I am in the process of liquidating my collection consisting of US and Foreign as well as special-interest QSLs. (My hobby evolved first into Amateur (Ham) Radio, and then into commercial broadcasting as a 'DJ' in high school and college.)DXing is the hobby of receiving and identifying distant radio or television signals, or making two way radio contact with distant stations in amateur radio, citizens' band radio or other two way radio communications. Many DXers also attempt to obtain written verifications of reception or contact, sometimes referred to as "QSLs" or "veries". The name of the hobby comes from DX, telegraphic shorthand for "distance" or "distant".The practice of DXing arose during the early days of radio broadcasting. Listeners would mail "reception reports" to radio broadcasting stations in hopes of getting a written acknowledgement or a QSL card that served to officially verify they had heard a distant station. Collecting these cards became popular with radio listeners in the 1920s and 1930s, and reception reports were often used by early broadcasters to gauge the effectiveness of their transmissions. Although international shortwave broadcasts are on the decline, DXing remains popular among dedicated shortwave listeners. The pursuit of two-way contact between distant amateur radio operators is also a significant activity within the amateur radio hobby.Types of DXing include: AM (or Medium Wave) radio DX, Shortwave DX, VHF DXing, and Amateur radio DX. I enjoyed them all, and I am listing for sale my collection consisting of Medium and Short Wave radio QSL cards.Having been the owner of a chain of brick and mortar retail stores – as well as an internet retailer – throughout the 1990s, I know what customers expect from the people with whom they do business, and my goal for every transaction is to offer nice material at reasonable prices while at the same time offering the highest level of customer service possible.I believe you will find my terms to be reasonable and to be the same that you would use if our roles were reversed. If you don't, let me know what you disagree with and I'll consider all suggestions. While you're here, please
