Rare 1940's Volupté USA Mirrored Powder Compact W Crest- Bejeweled. Has raised England's Coat of Arms with crown and two swords. Bejewelled with rhinestones throughout crest. Has brand and USA inscribed. Volupte was one of four major manufacturers in the USA during the 1930's through the early 1940's when it was almost unheard of for a woman not to own a compact. Volupte began operations in 1926 and closed their doors by the early 1950's. This compact and mirror are in excellent condition. A few of the rhinestones are missing( Looks like about 5 are missing). This is not noticeable, and both compact and mirror function beautifully. (Our jeweler has looked this compact over and feels that much of the gold may be real. He also was quite excited to see such a rare find. Saying that in all his years of buying and selling estate jewelry/antiques, he has never come across a compact as unique and handsome as this one. He valued it close to $100. He did offer to buy it from me). Compact has been stored in a smoke-free home and closet. Quick shipper and will arrive nicely packaged. Bundling options are available.
