This sale is for a rare original antique illustrated Northland Skis Skiing Toboggans Northland Ski Manufacturing Company folding advertising brochure. This brochure was removed from an advertising scrapbook that it was kept it in for roughly the last 100 years. We are unsure as to the brochure’s exact age but are fairly certain that it dates back to the mid to late 1920s. The brochure is marked in part as follows: NORTHLAND SKIS. NORTHLAND TOBOGGANS. NORTHLAND SKIS-THE CHOICE OF CHAMPIONS IS THE SKI FOR ALL. WORLD’S RECORDS MADE WITH NORTHLAND SKIS. NELS NELSON. MR. NELSON IS NOW HOLDER OF WORLD’S RECORD SKI JUMP. HENRY HALL. MR. HALL HAS ALSO MADE A WORLD’S RECORD ON NORTHLAND SKIS. ANDERS HAUGEN. MR. HAUGEN HAS TWICE SET THE WORLD’S SKI JUMP RECORD. NORTHLAND SKI MFG. CO. ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA. The brochure includes several illustrations with descriptions. The brochure measures roughly 6 3/16” x 3 3/16” when folded and 7 5/16” x 9 1/2” when fully opened. The brochure has aging, yellowing, bumped corners, wrinkles, edge wear, scratches, bending, curling, manufacturing/printing imperfections, dirty and/or stained areas, and indentation marks caused by the brochure sitting and being pressed against another brochure when it was originally sitting in the scrapbook that it was removed from. It was attached to the scrapbook page using two circular tabs (half of each tab was adhered to the page and the other half was adhered to the back page of the item). This created a hinge-like effect that made it possible to still read the material inside. Part of both of these circular tabs are still adhered to the back page of the brochure (see pictures). The brochure appears to be free of any rips or tears.
