Here\'s a rare Horse Car Bell having the original hanger and complete clapper in decent condition consistent with age. This piece was produced for use by the Chicago West Division Railway Co. I suspect before the year 1900 . I believe this bell attached to the collar of the horses pulling the trolleys on the tracks prior to use of electricity. This bell has a beautiful patina and original hardware still attached and still rings pretty loud. Some rust on the clapper as pictured but still in solid condition. A great historical piece for a lover of early transportation and Chicago historical items! If you have any questions or need additional photos feel free to contact me.
