I picked this up at a extremely high end estate sale manyyears ago along with numerous other high items I will be listing. Colonel James Barrett was the provincialcommander at Concord during the Battles of Lexington and Concord, who held theNorth Bridge and successfully repelled the British regulars. It was his farmthat was used to store many of the ammunition for the provincial military inthe end. The horn has three engraving on it. The first was JD Barrett dated 1761. The plug on the end has four initials JPAF dated 1787 - Ibelieve the first two letters are for his peer John Parker.I believe that it would have been left to him. The third signature I cannot make out, but the date 1791 isclear. The aging on the horn is perfect for the time period. I willaccept serious offers, but I am not in a hurry to sell this awesome piece ofhistory
