Rare Tall Antique American Pewter Whale Oil Lamp, Marked \"R. Gleason\", Dorchester, MA., c. 1830 - 1840. This is a very attractive tall pewter whale oil lamp. The beautiful lamp has great turnings with a cylindrical acorn shaped font. This lamp has a period double tube burner whale oil burner, that was on it when I purchased it. This attractive pewter lamp is marked on the underside of the base, \"R. GLEASON\". This is the mark of Roswell Gleason who worked out of Dorchester, Massachusetts during the 1830\'s. This is a very fine American pewter lamp offered here with a \"Buy It Now\".DIMENSIONS: The pewter whale oil lamp measures approxiamtely 8 7/16\" H. (top of burners), 7 15/16\" H. (top of lamp) x 1 13/16\" Dia. at the top of the font and 3 3/4\" Dia. at the base.CONDITION: The condition is very good with some minor denting and some wear,to the surface.
