Rare Vintage PETCH Wheelwrights Coach Makers Adjustable Cap & Nut Wrench Spanner These are very rare and just don\'t seem to ever come up for sale. Petch\'s registered design No. 200272. This adjustable spanner / wrench is designed for removing the brass cap nuts and then the nuts behind which fix the wheels on to horse drawn carts, coaches, carriages and wagons and this saved having every individual spanner size. There made of iron or steel but not cast iron, one of wrench side one of the sides looks a little bent, the nut does turn but the thread is a bit gummed up with old grease. This can be taken apart and cleaner, there is some surface rust but I cleaned up where the makers mark is and it does clean up nice.
