Here is your chance to acquire a rare authentic Luminaire Cube Light from the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair that was held in Flushing, New York. This historic light is one of the lights that lit up the fair and will come to you fully restored.It will be perfect in your home as a floor light or placed on a table. It casts a warm glow.
For the refurbishment process, I dismantled the cube by removing the original rusty hardware, screws, ancient electronics, and broken plexiglass. I then hand sanded the surfaces, prime coated them and painted it with brite metal silver flake paint.
During reassembly, I inserted new custom cut plexiglass squares in the official NYWF orange, blue colors. I inserted new nickel-plated hole plugs, installed a new lamp fixture and connected it to a six-foot cord with an easy on/off toggle switch. Included is a new LED bulb that has a 10-year life expectancy.
I do offer them in additional colors, pictured.
The light restoration allows the character of the 60 year old metal to shine through- there may be scratches, pitted spots, and hairline blemishes.
The cube size size is 16" x 16" x 16".
