EXCELLENT 1ST YEAR Pastel Blue Snorkel Statesman

Palladium Fine Point

Length capped - 5 1/2\"

Point - Fine

Description

This pastel blue first year Snorkel Statesman is in excellent restored condition. There are no dings, scratches, or cracks. The Snorkel filling system has been properly restored and takes up a full load of ink. The palladium silver fine point nib has been smoothed and the ink flow adjusted to medium flow. It\'s a smooth writer and a pleasure to use.

I have discounted the price by $15 because there is an unusual aspect to this particular example. Note that the cap doesn\'t have a white dot and the clip is engraved \"Sheaffer\'s.\" These are characteristics of a non-white dot model, but this cap has (as it should) the white dot model\'s wide cap band. So this cap is a mongrel, if you will, and because it\'s a first year model, I suspect that the factory somehow made a mistake during the production.

This Version of the Snorkel

Restoration includes disassembly, cleaning, replacement of all seals and the sac, smoothing and adjusting the nib, refinishing the plastic, stainless steel, and gold-filled surfaces, filling the pen with ink (not just dipping), and producing multiple writing samples over 2 days (like the ones in the photos).
