Hi, This sale is for a Folk Art, Swedish, Primitive, or Pennsylvania Dutch patterned fabric. I do not know anything about this fabric other than it is unusual, appears to be embroidered, and is lovely. Heavy weight fabric which appears to be like a heavy taffeta. The embroidery yarns appear to be wool. The back has long strands of the embroidery yarn. I have been told it is Swedish, but it looks very Pennsylvania Dutch with the cows, deer, flowers and pine trees. I think it is old because there is a very old piece of masking tape on one edge that has turned yellow, brittle and has lost its sticky qualities. Anyway, you be the judge and decide for yourself. I have tried to research this and have not been successful. Measures 56” wide and 92” long. Excellent condition, clean, no holes, no spots, and I saw one loose embroidery thread. There may be other small areas that I have missed that would be consistent with vintage fabrics. The fabric would look fabulous used as upholstery,pillows, or a wall hanging in a Primitive setting.
