Scarce WW1 Dated US M1907 Sling For 03 Springfield or M1917–P.B. & Co. 1918:

Offered is a World War One production United States military issue Model 1907 leather sling made for use with the 1903 Springfield or Model 1917 rifles. This will also fit an M1 Garand (the M1907 was used extensively with the Garand during World War Two) and was used on Trench Shotguns as well. This sling is maker marked P.B. & Co. for manufacture by Plant Brothers and Company of Manchester, NH. It also retains the inspectors initials (J.Q.Y.) stamped in the leather beneath the date. It is dated 1918, which was the only year Plant Brothers manufactured M1907 slings. This sling is full length and has never been modified or repaired. The brass claws/claw rivets are tight. Both sewn keepers are present. The sling has no rips or tears and shows only normal wear and relatively minor cracking given its age and service. These slings have become difficult to find, as the repros and fakes greatly outnumber the originals. It is offered as pictured.

Overall, a very scarce and desirable maker marked (by a rather low production maker) and dated World War One sling that will display well on your rifle.
