Up for sale is a snack set of four 1939 Mr. Peanut New York World's Fair Lithography Pressed Tin Bowls (one large bowl and three small individual Mr. Peanut peanut bowls) & three small individual Mr. Peanut bowls with just Mr. Peanuts picture in the bottom center of the bowl, (not the World's Fair Logo,) for a total of six individual bowls and one larger serving bowl. The edges of the bowls/dishes are gently scalloped. They are all marked: Made in U.S.A. on the bottom. The large dish has a 6" diameter, is 1 1/8" tall and the bottom diameter is 2 3/4". The small dishes have 3" top diameters, are 3/4" tall and have 1 1/2" bottom diameters. The images lithographed in the bottom of the four world's Fair bowls include the Trylon and the Perisphere and of course, Mr. Peanut:These iconic structures stood at the heart of the fairgrounds. TheTrylon, a soaring700-foot obelisk, and thePerisphere, a200-foot globe, symbolized the fair’s futuristic theme.Visitors entered the Perisphere via a moving stairway and exited through the grand curved walkway known as theHelicline.
