St. Francis of Assisi Tile S. Volpi Deruta Italy Hand-Painted Ceramic Catholic:

Hand-painted tile depicting St. Francis of Assisi made by S.Volpi (for Serafino Volpi, the founder of the company) in Deruta, Italy. “S.Volpi Deruta” is written on the back of the tile, as well as what appears to bea penciled price in Italian lira. The tile measures approximately 2 15/16” x 5 15/16”.The age of the tile is unknown but was possibly made prior to 1999 when Italystopped using the lira. There is a hole through the top and back of the tile for a string or similar hanger. Estate sale find.

The tile appears to be in good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, chips, pits, spots, stray marks, rub marks, smudges, and wear on the edges and corners (some of these blemishes, such as spots and pits, may be a result of the manufacturing process).
