I\'m pleased to offer this genuine reliquary containing an artifact ofSt. Josephof Bethlehem, Spouse of Mary. This was assembled in the latter half of the 19th century, or the very first years of the 20th.
The relic is sealed with wax. Though the wax has deteriorated somewhat, the seal is still clear and you\'ll not that the cords are still attached to the metal frame, meaning that this relic has not been opened since it was sealed. The relic and glass are firm in the frame.
The relic is enclosed in a diminutive locket made of solid silver. It is in good condition and closes at it should. It has a patina, but could be polished bright. I have decided to leave it as found, as it wears it age well. The relic fits into the locket loosely enough that it can be removed with a little effort, but is not so tight that it will accidentally fly out. There is a small piece of cotton set into the lit to prevent any rattling.
This is a diminutive artifact, measuring just 15.5 mm in diameter and weighing 2.3 grams.
