This is an excellent U.S. 1917 mess kit made by Landers, Frary, & Clark with a 1917 spoon made by Wallace Brothers Company. The mess kit and spoon are marked by these markers with “L. F. & C.” and “W B/W”. Additionally the initials “K W” and “513” are scratched on the top of the mess kit lid by a soldier while the initials “G. C.” are also etched on the bottom of the mess kit! The spoon also has the laundry numbers of “H7980” punched on the front and “F3267” stamped on the back! Fantastic piece of WW1 history!
