Superb Original WW2 Springfield M1 Garand Lockbar Sight Checkered Elevation Cap:

Offered is an original and complete World War Two production lockbar sight manufactured for use with the M1 Garand infantry rifle. This sight would fall into the category of a Type 2 lockbar sight, but it is a very early one, as it has a checkered elevation cap (which are quite scarce and desirable in and of themselves). The overwhelming majority of Type 2 lockbar sights have a knurled elevation cap, so I would estimate production of this one in late 1942. I have had this complete sight for years and years and did not put it together, which is why I am offering it with the checkered elevation cap it has had. This sight is offered exactly as pictured in superb condition. A very difficult to upgrade complete sight for your Garand.
