KPM painting on porcelain plaque. A young girl and her dog. The plaque itself is 7 7/8\" by 5 7/8\" , frame is 13\" by 11\". Sold by the M Knoedler & Co which I read was a art dealership that started in 1846, closed in 2011 and was one of the oldest dealerships in the US.
This art piece came from one of the old family estates in Athens Ga. As you can see when I purchased it the backing was mostly intact though taped. I took it off to make sure it was a original Kpm plaque and it is. Plaque has the scepter mark and 145 203 stamped and 28479 in pencil. Signed F Wagner Wien on the bottom left.
It will have to be secured again in the frame and a new backing put on and/or a new frame. The painting was quite dirty and I lightly cleaned it but did not have it out of the frame. The edges will still need to be cleaned.
This plaque is super sweet and if it doesn\'t sell , it won\'t hurt my feelings. I\'ll enjoy being its caretaker for a bit. What a super special gift it would make for someone though!
