The steins were manufactured in early 1900s and is made of glazed pottery. They are decorated with a relief picture of a woman and man in hunter\'s outfit holding hands while another hunter is waiting for them. The scene is taken from the painting of a famous German painter - Franz Defregger 1835-1921). The painting is called \"Abschied der Jaeger\" - \"Hunters\' Farewell\" (1877). The design of the stein shows ornaments and style of Art Nouveau - it was very popular in early 1900s and Rosskopf and Gerz made several beer steins with the distinctive Art Nouveau motifs. The stein has heavy ornate pewter lid engraved with a presentation inscription. It looks like the stein was a gift for confirmation. The bottoms are marked with model number 326 an the word \"Germany\". The steins 5\" tall, 1/4 L capacity. Very nice and impressive drinking vessels.
The stein were never lidded.
