For sale here is a great looking US Pre WW1 M1906 Field Web Gear First Aid Early Carlisle Bandage Pouch With Sealed Bandage Tin. This is a rare find! The pouch shows use , wear, carry, and soiling, but is in good overall condition. The front of the pouch is unit marked in a paint stencil USAAS. over 563. The back is marked with the number 21 in a paint stencil. The snaps are blackened brass and show some paint loss and light corrosion. The hanger bar appears to be blackened steel with some finish loss and age. The snaps both work just like they should. Both sides of the pouch show wear the the edges, but there is no apparent seam separation unless it is extremely minor. Under the flap, the pouch is maker marked by R.I.A. for Rock Island Arsenal, and is dated 1910 with a probable inspector mark of M underneath. The maker stamping shows considerable fading, but it is legible. Inside, the pouch contained an unopened M1906 First Aid Tin that is marked, \"First Aid Packet-U.S. Army / Contract June 14, 1909 / Bauer & Black / Chicago, U.S.A. / To Open-Pull Ring / Patent Applied For.\" The tin appears to be made of brass with a ring of silver colored soldering around the seam. The pull ri ng is steel. The packet retains most of it\'s paint, but there is some paint loss and quite a few dents and dings from field pouch carry. There is a bit of cracking around the pull start, but this tin is unopened and sealed at least most of the way around. The brown paint appears darker and more flat out from under the photo lights. This is a great pouch and even better Pre War bandage tin. You will be pleased!
