Pin commemorates the 200th Anniversary of the First Balloon Flight stamp released on March 31st, 1983, designed byDavid Meltzer. The world's first manned flight occurred in 1783 in a balloon over Paris, France. To issue the stamps with appropriate drama and grandeur, Malcolm Forbes (publisher of Forbes Magazine) tethered his hot air balloon to the Chateau de Balleroy with a set of the recently released stamps in hand.Dimensions/Measurements: 2"W x 1"H (horizontal rectangular pin)Condition: Great condition, pre-owned collectible stamp pin with minor imperfections from original production and light scratches from long term storage (refer to photos).
