Then he swears off on the authenticity of the items and then authenticates the flower given to him by the wife of Ulysses Grant from her personal garden. He received the piece of cloth from the undertaker of Ulysses S Grant and he re writes the letter given to him by the very well know undertaker of the time. “Undertaker to the stars”. He personally received a carnation from Mrs Grant which was from her garden in 1888. Which he signs off on as well. He is presenting these gifts to the Parmenus Hills Post of the Grand Army of the Republic may 30, 1888. At the Rock River Conference. Stunning piece of American history that came from a prominent collection that was sold. Please see all photos closely. Amazing piece.

Basically everything you see here was meticulously put together by the reverend to give as a beautiful gift to the veterans of the civil war in 1888. It has been preserved in beautiful condition ever since. Irreplaceable pieces of history. One of a kind American historical artifacts.
