Tube is approximately 5 1/2" long x 1 1/4" wide,in Very Good Condition. Unsure of it's composition, but believe that it's made of tin? Tube includes slight scratching & corrosion,a few dents,& many decades of age has caused the metal tube to naturally oxidize & discolor.Bottom end of tube legibly reads: UNION PAPER CO NEW YORK.
Upper removable cap is in perfect operational condition; it screws on & off. It includes (what I believe to be), the original cardboard piece that remains inserted inside of the cap.Exterior of upper cap has a foreign substance on it (perhaps a glue/varnish of sorts?).I've made NO EFFORT whatsoever, to remove the foreign substance, nor to clean the tube, as I do not desire to possibly damage the structural integrity of such a unique, antique piece of Americana history.
