Acquired in Nepal with likely Indian origin.

This is a medium sized hand made sculpture of the Hindu Deity Lord Shiva.
Approximately, It is about 7.5" to 7.8" tall and approximately weighs a hefty feeling 2 kg or 4 lbs 6 ounces of brass.
We found this in a Tibetan curio / vintage shop in Kathmandu, however it's origin is likely from India originally.It is styled as the "Ten Faces of Shiva". This motif is called a "Mukhalingam" and is fairly uncommon, making it a unique way to display Shiva.
It is highly detailed, and you can see the care the artist put into this piece by how almost every part has some detail work instead of being left blank. For example, the hash mark pattern at the very base is an extra detail the artist chose to add which in less expensive statues this would just be left blank. A lot of details are found in the head decoration especially with 10 different faces.
Vintage sculptures (not just from 50s or 60s, but even from 80s to 90s) often have more detail and craft than newer sculptures owing to being made in an era before the contemporary "fast and disposable" era.
We loved this because it is super rare to find a unique Shiva depiction, especially in this quality and detail, with some vintage patina alongside some patina possibly added by the artist.
This is really a one-of-a-kind piece, and is meant to be collected and displayed as an art piece that can be held on to for a long time as a treasured possession.
