VINTAGE 1930s-1950s MARTEX TOWEL FROM HISTORIC BLACKSTONE HOTEL FT. WORTH, TEXAS:

This listing is for a vintage terrycloth guest towel from an old hotel. It is marked, "THE BLACKSTONE - FT. WORTH, TEXAS." This historic hotel was built in 1929. (You can see several old postcards picturing the hotel in its heyday, right here on .) A cloth tag attached to the towel is marked. "GUARANTEED FAST COLOR - MARTEX TURKISH TOWELS." It measures approx. 42 inches long, and is 21 & 1/2 inches wide. I DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS WAS MADE, but I would "GUESS" that it is circa 1930's to 1950's - give or take. (It clearly "has some age on it.") The condition is probably POOR to FAIR. It is well worn and has SIGNIFICANT FADING. The fabric has YELLOWED. In addition to the yellowing, it has some soiling here & there. (I have made no attempt to clean it.) No holes or tears. The above pictures tell the story. It seems to be pretty RARE - I could not find another example ANYWHERE in my online searching. It is guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back.
