This invitation and the original envelope are addressed to my grandmother and it has never been displayed or framed. My grandmother was an immigrant foundling who was raised in an orphanage until she was adopted from the orphan train by a Pennsylvania farm couple. She was widowed at an early age and after she raised her six children she went back to school to be a nurse in NYC. There was no one prouder to be an American and she loved all things political.

This vintage invitation to JFK’s Inauguration is a unique piece of political memorabilia from the historic 1961 Presidential Inauguration Ceremony belonged to her. Along with an invitation to bill Clinton’s inauguration they were her prized possessions.
