This vintage white oak Appalatchian gathering basket was found in an estate in Western North Carolina. The round, woven design is crafted from 2-tone oak splints (some with a walnut dye for contrast). The use of stain to create a decorative element hints at a Cherokee influence. With a size of 8 inches in diameter and a height of 7 inches, it\'s the perfect size for gathering small items. The basket is handmade and has a dry finish.
