Vintage Brass Enameled Etched Ornate Elephant Claw Temple Bell - approximately 3 1/2” tall. In good overall condition for age. Has some oxidation present and one claw bent in a little further than the rest. Please review photos for exact condition!
The bell functions properly and has an echoing melodious chime sound. Based on research, it is believed that this item was made and used in India.
When exposed to air and moisture, the copper in brass reacts with oxygen to form copper oxide — also known as verdigris — which is the cause of the green color on the bell. Certain areas of the bell have oxidation present showing the age of the item.
