Item was inherited from a family member who received it as a Christmas gift from a close couple friend. It came with a letter detailing the history and where they purchased the snuff bottle. The letter will be included as part of its provenance. The letter doesn't detail the establishment where they purchased it during their travels in the Orient. They were avid snuff bottle collectors.Item is surfaced cleaned with a lightly damped soft cloth, using only water, to preserve its integrity and authenticity. I'm not an expert vintage restorer, preferring to leave the item in its original condition, leaving it to new owner to consult an expert to restore and clean as they see fit.
