Offered for sale is this set of collectible glasses by Coca-Cola in their Heritage Collector Series of 1973
  • Glasses depict progression of American flags during the Revolutionary War period (1774-1777)
  • Each glass depicts a different flag
  1. "Meteor" flag first flown in the Town of Taunton, Massachusetts in 1774. Solid red field with the words "Liberty and Union" and the Union Jack in the corner.
  2. Bunker Hill flag used by Minutemen at the Battle of Bunker HIll in 1775. Solid blue field with a white field and red cross with a pine tree in one corner.
  3. The "Grand Union" flag was the first national flag of the new nation, presented to George Washington when he took command of the Continental Army in 1776. It had thirteen alternating red and white stripes with the Union Jack in the corner.
  4. The First Stars and Stripes adopted June 14th, 1777 (why we celebrate that day as Flag Day) to show that the new nation was serious about separating from Great Britain. Red and white alternating stripes with the blue field in the corner displaying thirteen white stars in a ring.
  • These glasses are undamaged, no chips or cracks.
  • Glasses are clear and sparkly, no cloudiness.
  • Design colors are bright and vivid.
  • Paragraphs on the back of each glass describes the flag on the front. The print shows minor fading, probably from washing over the years, but is perfectly legible.
  • Recommend hand washing only.
  • Glasses indicate (c)1968, 1973 during the period where the U.S. was preparing for the Bicentennial celebrations of 1976.
