This is an \"AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC\" original cointelephone.It is what appears to bemodified to be sold to customersfor use in their homes.
There is a sticker on the back indicating these were assembled and sold by \"TELE-CREATIONS, INC\" in Englewood, Colorado probably in the 1970s.
The modificationadded an oak wood coin box and backboard so the phonecould be mounted on the wall without a problem.
This is an early Automatic Electric with a separate Bakelite transmitter and receiver. It is wired for use with a current modular plug, however, I am unable to test, as I do not have a land line.
While it may not be a 3-slot you\'ve been looking for
(with a historical background) you\'ll not find anythingthat will amaze you with its beauty. A fantastic Mancave with any rotary dials today, you may have
dialing problems with newer digital service
lines, such as, internet systems, some cable
systems & others. Will always work on traditional
Telephone Company\'s lines.)
