Very good used condition. There appears to be some variation in the color of the mat at the top of painting. This may just be inherent in the handmade nature of the art.
Odisha traditional art form \'Pattachitra\' which dates back to 5BC live in India\'s first heritage village Raghurajpur. The Pattachitra painting depicts the old murals of Odisha dating back to the 5th century especially in the religious centres of Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar region.
Pattachitra is a painting done on canvas(generally called patta) and is manifested by rich colourful application, creative patterns and designs and portrayal of simple and beautiful themes which depicts most mythological characters. Pattachitra is a popular genre of ethnic painting in Odisha and was born out of the cult of Lord Jagannath, the presiding deity of the Odisha temple.
