Vintage Fireman\'s Axe COLLINS Hartford Warranted Cast Steel Legitimus Crown & Hammer Logo, With Original Hickory Handle. Axe head has gray and red paint. Axe head has scratches, and marks from normal use. Original Hickory handle has some rough marks under head. Pictures will show. Handle also has scratches, marks, and a few nicks, from normal use. Axe head is tight, no loose parts. The only problem that I see is, axe head looks like there is a hole drilled in it, and a pin inserted, along with the normal process of the wedge in the top of axe head, for installing the handle. I do not know if this was something that was a modification for the fireman\'s axe, by attaching the pin, or a after thought. I have not been able to find another one like it, and to be honest with you, I don\'t know if it is a pin, but it sure looks like one. Axe head has wonderful patina. These particular axe heads are pretty rare. Axe head and original handle are in good used condition. Good Luck, Sweet Piece. From The Clint Dunn Collection. You Sure Don\'t Run Into These Everyday.
