Up for sale today is a piece of American history: An estate fresh antique and complete "Gillette WW1 U.S. Army Khaki Set" safety razor with cardboard shipper, made in 1918.The razor is in very good condition and plating is in very good status, considering it was made for the 1st World War soldiers. The razor has no cracks and no bent teeth. The serial number stamped in the comb is "J 1014" (see pictures) which makes this razor one of the first military "Khaki Sets" ever made. It has "PROPERTY U.S. ARMY" stamped on the razor comb and also printed at the back of the mirror, the interior of the case and on the shipper. It has the patent marks stamped at the bottom of the handle, and on the upper part the handle has also a small hairline crack, very common in the first Gillette razors. All original state with no replate, polish or modifications done; just light cleaning with cloth.
