This classic set of cast metal bookends features a horse head profile design framed by a horseshoe shaped border and woodgrain background. The set appears to be unsigned and is made of a heavy unknown silver tone metal. Will make an excellent addition to your library or equestrian collection whether your focus is on riding, ranch, old west or racing. Each bookend measures approximately 3.25\" x 4.5\" x 5.75\"
Condition: In vintage pre-owned condition with wear including dirt, dust, grime, patina, tarnish, stains, dulling, pitting, dimpling, dents, dings, discoloring, yellowing, the surface has a slightlybrownish gold transparent finish to it that is possibly a glaze of some kind or possibly just years of dirt and patina, dimpling, uneven surface finish/textures/shapes/forms/finish due to the metal casting process, the dark red felt padding that is attached to the bottoms and backs is worn and includes fraying/stains/a hard crusty dark stained area/tears/rips/uneven residue/retail sticker residue, there are some dark areas on the face of the horses that might be scratches or patina but I am not sure which if either, the surface is textured with tiny indentations that is likely due to oxidation in addition to overall wear from age and handling. Age/era: Unknown but I am guessing between 1940s-1970s however I cannot confirm or guarantee
Origin: Purchased in Indianapolis, Indiana but I am not sure where they were made
Marks: Unmarked as far as I can tell
