Description: Vintage pair of Papél mugs made in Japan with artwork by Ginny. There is one pink mug and one yellow mug.
The pink mug has artwork of a little girl in a pink dress with a blonde ponytail. She is sitting on a brink wall with flower vines growing up the sides and she is holding a blue bird. Under the art it says, “You fill each day with happiness”.
The yellow mug has artwork of a little boy in jeans, a green sweater, and brown hat. He is sitting on a wooden fence with floral vines on the sides and there is a blue bird sitting on the fence too. Under the artwork it says, “ Carefree days make the sweetest memories”.
Measurements: Both are approximately 4 inches tall with a 3.25 inch diameter. The handles are approximately 2.75 inches tall and come 1 3/8 inches off the mug. The inside of the handles are approximately 2 inches of space for your fingers.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The art on both mugs still looks great. No wear to the images. The pink mug has one flea bite of the rim. Otherwise neither mug has other chips or cracks. There is some light utensil marks inside each mug. There is a lot of wear and discoloration to the unglazed ceramic on the bottom of each mug.
Marks: The pink mug is marked on the bottom, “Designed & Hand Decorated, Papél, Inc, Japan.” The yellow mug is not marked.
