Hi everybody I was sorry I wasn't home when you called. I want to thank you so much for that beautiful handkerchief and all of you for the candy that was a real surprise as I got the hanky Fri. and it really is beautiful. I was up at the hospital. Mary and Dot had taken Pearl up don't let on I told you as Dot doesn't want anyone to know and I didn't even tell Elnette(?) or Myrtle so write later.

Front: Remains of South Fork Dam
whose unleashed waters struck Johnstown, Pennsylvania, with the force of an atom bomb on May 31, 1889.
(Arrows horizontal: 931 Ft., arrows vertical: 72 Ft.)
Back: The railroad running through the breast of the dam now travels the route of the great flood. The railroad drops 400 feet in the 12 mile distance to Johnstown, Pa. Rushing down this swift descent, the water from the broken dam flattened buildings and bridges and took over 2200 lives, resulting in one of the greatest disasters in U.S. history.Distributed by Penn News Co., Johnstown, PA.
